Hogg made his international cricket debut in 1996, representing Australia in both Test and One-Day International (ODI) matches. However, he only played 7 Test matches between 1996 and 2003, but had a more significant impact in limited-overs cricket.

In ODIs, Hogg played 123 matches for Australia and had success as a spinner in the middle overs. He was known for his accurate bowling, variations, and the ability to tie down batsmen. Hogg was a part of Australia’s successful teams in the 2003 and 2007 ICC Cricket World Cups, winning the tournament on both occasions.

After a brief retirement, Hogg returned to international cricket in 2012 and became a regular member of Australia’s T20I squad. He played a vital role in Australia’s victory in the 2014 ICC World Twenty20, showcasing his skills as a spin bowler even at the age of 43.

In addition to his international career, Hogg played domestic cricket for Western Australia and later for the Perth Scorchers in the Big Bash League (BBL). He was known for his enthusiasm and lively personality on and off the field, earning a significant fan-following.

Hogg retired from all forms of cricket in January 2018. After retirement, he has remained involved in the sport as a commentator and cricket analyst, sharing his insights and knowledge of the game.
